An older beach house in Sorrento, Victoria, this building was tired and pokey. Lacking connection and light, it wasted the vast bay views. We opened up the whole top floor and created some new openings to the outside and the master bedroom. A small extension to the deck incorporated smart engineering that provided room to breathe and some special detailing – a floating handrail that doubles as a drink holder. The palette was muted, with a totally white kitchen that suited the couple who are both pharmacists.
