New Website by Pixelshifter

pixelshifter journal
Woo hooo, I love it. You may have noticed that I’m posting on my Journal regularly and I can also update my projects page a little more often, Scott made this super easy.

A little back story; Warwick of Mihaly Slocombe built his first archi website a few years ago and asked me why I hadn’t built mine yet. I went back to the office that day and got busy on apple’s now defunct iWeb. The result looked okay but it wasn’t great and the functionality was mediocre.

I contacted Scott Ritchie at Pixelshifter after I had seen a few of his sites, they were simple and impressive. I also like to support locals, he works in the offices next door. We met up a few times and then he drilled me for content which is always one of the biggest hurdles. After a few weeks he had nutted out my new site that has all the gizmos that I required. The site is based on WordPress so it is infinitely expandable.

We kept things simple with a little abstraction. A really cool home / landing page that cycles through a few detail images, you’ll find this under my logo in the bottom right corner. Next are a couple of pages devoted to the Practice philosophy and the People involved. The Projects page works really well and over time will become an ongoing archive of the work we produce. A Journal page (this is where you are reading this now) is a running commentary on news, new work, things that we are doing and our broad interests that include architecture, design, planning, urbanism, furniture, lighting, art and other oddities. All of these are the inspiration behind our work. Finally a Contact page with our details and links to our social media on Instagram, Twitter and to a lesser extent, Facebook. All of this can be found under the three lines in the top right corner, I suspect you just tried it.

All up, we are really happy with Pixelshifters work on this and we can not recommend him enough. Easy going and extremely talented, big thanks to Scott. Check back regularly for new content or better still, commission us and become a part of our website.
